Last weekend I had the opportunity to attend a house tour in Port Hope featuring 2 modern custom built homes.
I'll start with the the second home on the tour designed by architect Stephanie Vermeulen. The owners stumbled upon a vacant treed lot overlooking a ravine and decided to purchase it anticipating their retirement in a few years. Their vision was to build a modern, sustainable, energy efficient home that would take advantage of the southern exposure.
The other house on the tour was the Blecher Residence designed be Teeple Architects. The home is situated on over 70 acres of lush land over looking Lake Ontario. The home owners requested that no photos be taken during the tour because the project is still under construction. Professional pictures are to be taken in the new year when the house is 100% complete so I will share them once they are available.
