When you're planning your home renovations, choosing sustainable building materials and finishing options can play an important role. An environmentally-friendly approach can also provide you with a positive health benefit. Green Building Materials and Renovations, the November 4th topic in our Living Green series, will help you - the homeowner, designer, or contractor - to discover sustainable and environmentally-friendly options so you can create a healthy living environment. The November 4th discussion will be led by Christopher Phillips, founder of the renovations and consulting company Greening Homes. His company, Greening Homes, recently partnered with CMHC to build the Sustainable Condo/Healthy Home project in Toronto. Chris Phillips will address the environmental and health impacts of material choices, and help you discover what makes a renovation sustainable. He will also provide an introduction to the alternative material choices available on the market.

About the Speaker:

Christopher Phillips is a Sustainable Building Consultant with Greening Homes Ltd. He is a LEED AP, with a certificate in Sustainable Building and Design (Fleming College) and has formal training in the Building Biology approach to healthy building (IBE) and Building Science (Ryerson University). Christopher has delivered versions of this seminar for Toronto Regional Conservation Authority, the Canadian Safety Authority, the University of Toronto's School of Architecture, and Ryerson University's building science programme.
